I am looking for any information on a Francis McClay, possibly from Roughfort near Belfast. He fought during the First World War but I do not have the rank or regiment.

Francis McClay was my grandfather. He volunteered for the 38th Welsh Division in 1915 and was in the 113th Machine Gun battalion. He married my grandmother after the war, but her two brothers, whom he must have known, went to the 36th Ulster and both died on the first of July 1916. My grandfather, however, fought until April 1918, when he was blown up by a gas shell and arrived home invalided, in 1919, after a brief spell in the American hospital in Boulogne and in London. He was bedridden until 1952, and was refused a disability pension. I never met him, but would like to know more. I have one picture of him in khaki as a young man.
I know little of his early life, but suspect he lived in Glenallen St in Belfast in 1911 with his widower father and sister Sarah.
Be pleased to know more.
Best regards
