Taken from marriage cert.

John Partridge b.1810 Antrim county
d.27 June, 1888 in Derriaghy, county Antrim

married Jane Alderdice in 1850

John was a landholder in the townland of Aughalislone. No parents given.

You say no parents are given on the 1850 marriage cert. Irish marriage certs only have the father’s name. Mother’s is not recorded. If the box for father’s details is left blank it usually means the father is unknown.

Can’t see a marriage between John Partridge and Jane Alderdice listed for 1850. There is one between Jane Alderdice and William Innis (registered in Lisburn 1850 Volume 7, page 73).

There’s a Thos Partridge in Aghalislone in 1862 when he is renting a house and small garden (plot 6B(b)). At the same time, John Partridge is on plot 20 with a house, offices (outbuildings) and 4.5 acres (modern Ivy Hill Rd).
