Does anybody have any information about Charles LUCAS b. abt.1830 Ireland and his wife Mary b. abt. 1850 Ireland.

I found them living in Saltney Street, Liverpool in both the 1881 and 1891 census records but both only tell me that they were both born in IRELAND.
The details are as follows:-

1881 census records: 1 House 12 Court Saltney St, Liverpool, Lancashire, England

Charles LUCAS H 51 Dock Labourer b. Ireland
Mary LUCAS W 30 b. Ireland
Christopher REED Nephew 9 Scholar b. Liverpool **** (the surname has been altered ÔÇô originally REID!!)
Mary SMITH H Wid 56 House keeper b. Ireland
James SMITH ÔÇ£ 22 Dock Labourer b. Ireland

1891 census records: 5 in 13 Court, Saltney Street, Liverpool, St Matthias parish (occupying 3 rooms)
Charles LUCAS H 51 Dock Labourer b. Ireland
Mary LUCAS W 48 b. Ireland
Mary SMITH Boarder, Wid 60 b. Ireland
James SMITH ÔÇ£ 27 Seas Sailor b. Ireland

I think Charles' age is incorrect in the 1891 census but their nephew - Christopher REID, is my grandfather. His father was James REID and his father before him was Alexander REID.

We have no idea where James and Alexander were born!

I'm trying to work out what connection the LUCAS family were to my grandfather (I think on his mother's side, she was Elizabeth SMITH), and where they originated from.

My dad always seemed to think that his father had connections with Dublin.

Can anybody help with information please?

Christopher
