Building your Family Tree

Post by Christopher » 04 Sep 2007, 15:11

Building an online family tree is a good way to start recording all the information you already know about your relatives as it assists you to get a good picture of how all the members of your family link together. You can add more members as you find where they were born, married and died. You can go back in time by adding ancestors or add cousins and in-laws. Note: you must ask for their permission. That's extremely important and must be obtained as some people have objections to relatives searching for ancestors and making online trees. You can not only add your spouse, children and grandchildren but also those of your relatives. There are many sites containing facilities enabling you to build an online tree.

Since 1998, www.myfamily.com has provided private family web sites to help millions of people stay connected with those who matter most. Improvements have been made and now there's a myfamily.com 2.0 beta which introduces a new generation of FREE family web sites for sharing photos, stories, news, and more.

Your Family Tree magazine contains a column on Online Updates each month. The May 2007 edition mentioned the following website www.zooof.com which enables you to put your family tree on the web and invite friends and relatives to visit your own family zone. ZOOOF BV was founded in 2006 by Jean-Paul Busker (1970) and Stefan Leenen (1981) in Amsterdam .
