Introduction: ÔÇÿAll Ireland SourcesÔÇÖ is a monthly newsletter distributed free by E-mail to Family History Societies and interested researchers near the end of each month. Distribution by Australia Post each three months (three issues) costs $6.00 annually within Australia. The aim is to bring items of interest regarding Irish record sources to the Australian genealogist. This is the Surname Index (aka HouseholdersÔÇÖ Index) to the GriffithÔÇÖs Valuation of Stranorlar Parish published in 1857 and includes the number of times the name was in the 42 townlands and towns and if the name was in the Tithe Survey of the parish in 1830 but not the number of times the surname occurred. The given names were published in the original
book of the Printed Valuations on pages 77-105. The names of the towns and townlands are included below. Remember all are in County Donegal, Raphoe South Barony and Stranorlar Parish.
IÔÇÖll publish the printed Valuations file linked to this newsletter on the SAG website but it may not be immediately available.

Here are the 42 townlands in Stranorlar Parish.

Ballybofey Town

IRELAND OLD NEWS: IRISH DEATH NOTICE INDEX is an index of 53,196 obituaries of people who were born and/or died in Ireland, or whose deaths were mentioned in Irish newspapers. The actual obituaries are not necessarily available on line. They have been indexed from all over the USA and Canada, as well as Ireland and elsewhere.
They include 24,408 entries from ÔÇÿThe Cork ExaminerÔÇÖ of the 19th and early 20th century and 1,947 entries from the 19th century New York ÔÇÿIrish-AmericanÔÇÖ newspaper. Refer to the publications list to identify the source. ┬® Denis Ahern.
It appears to be a work in progress and easy to navigate.

The Journal of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland: An update since publishing Newsletter Volume 9, No. 5, May 2007. On page 18, I refer to the website and the free access to its library. The 21 volumes of this journal listed in the second paragraph on page 18 were contributed by a Canadian University and are available for online
reading &/or downloading. The Volume with no number has now been identified as Volume X ÔÇô Fourth Series aka Volume XX (Twenty) in the Consecutive Series. It is an Index to Volumes I ÔÇô XIX (1-19) 1849-1889, the first 40 years of publication and was issued as ÔÇÿThe Extra VolumeÔÇÖ. The book was easily readable online but the magnifier is not yet available. Pages printed were easily read but I had to alter my printing setup to landscape. The volume numbers listed as available online are from the left column; that is the Consecutive Numbering on pages 18, 19 and 20.
