What denomination were the McKelvy, Erwin and Boyd families?

You'll probably have to look at church records as the first Civil registrations in Ireland were non Catholic marriages introduced in 1845. Civil registration for all other marriages as well as births and deaths was not introduced in Ireland until 1864.

Hello. I have found a James McKelvey born around 1763, died about 1846 in Clough cemetery. As far as I can tell he married a Sarah Kirgan. They both resided in Ballymena. Interestingly, one of their children was a Sarah McKelvey who married my wifes g-g-g grandfather, William Law. His son, John Law married a Martha Irwin (Irvine). It appears that in Ireland last name spellings can vary at times, and it is interesting that the names you mention all fall on my family tree.
