Best Family Information circa 1839

Post by sloan_family » 06 Jul 2011, 21:34

I am looking for information on Jame Best b 1 Nov 1839, bap 10 Nov 1839, West Church Presbyterian Ballymena, father's name listed as William Best and mother's maiden name Nancy Conway. James came to America about 1863 Residence: 27 North Moore Occupation: Merchant Marital Status: Single as listed on his American Civil War draft rtegistration. I am looking for information on his parents/siblings. It has been suggested that his grandfather, was William Best of Ballymena the Irish longcase clock maker. I am attempting to prove/dis-prove that supposition as well as determine if he had family that stayed in Ireland and what might have happened to them

According to the PRONI website, West ChurchÔÇÖs baptism record start in 1829, so you should be able to look up and see who his parents were from that source. (The records themselves are not on line and youÔÇÖll either need to get someone to look them up for you or order a copy of the microfilm in to your nearest LDS library).
