hello genealogist,
i am looking for info on Shandley Adams born approx 1808 Antrim, Ireland. I do not have any info as to whom his parents were.Shandley Adams came to England and married Ann Surgey in 1834, Basford, Nottingham England. It was before registation, so no named father on the parish register. He did not marry in a Catholic Church. I have Shandley Adams with his wife and Children in the 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 census, Nottingham. All the children were not baptised in a Catholic Church. Really looking for any info on Shandleys family in Antrim, Ireland if possible. I dont know where to start.

Christopher

Hello Christopher, Thank you for replying.
The names of Shandley and Ann Adams children were
Margaret b. 1835
Samuel b. 1836
Robert b 1837
James b 1839
William b 1842 Died as a baby
John b 1845 ( My line.)
Mary Ann b 1851 Died 3 weeks old

I have photo copies of all children's baptism records.
Shandley Adams trade in the 1841 census HO107/0855 Church Side, Arnold, Nottingham was a frame work Knitter.
Shandley Adams trade in the 1851 census HO107/2130 Walker St, Sneinton, Nottingham was a frame work knitter.
Shandley Adams trade in the 1861 census R.G.9/2451 Walker St, Sneinton, Nottingham changed to a coal dealer.
He continued as a coal dealer right though until his death in 1881.There is no will.
Ann Adams died in the coal yard in 1889.No will.
To find Shanleys parents has been near on impossible for me.I've been working on my family tree for ten years, no-thing compared to some people. I go to Nottingham Archives once a week for the whole day.I really enjoy it.
Any help much appreciated, Maureen
