JOHN LITTLE, Bottlemaker for Guinness, Dublin

Post by littlealison » 16 Jun 2010, 20:11

I am searching for my ancestor John Little who left Glasgow for Dublin 1868-70.
My uncle Fred Little wrote that he came originally from Dumbarton near Glasgow and when he moved to Dublin he '.....was able to start or acquire a firm making glass bottles, his principal customer being Guinness.....'
He was also a member of the Plymouth Brethren sect. I know he left for South Africa with his wife Isabella and various other of his Little family in 1896.
His son and grandson appear to be still making bottles in Dublin in 1901 (1901 census).
I'm trying to find out more about what he did in Dublin!
